Brief History

The Diego Martin Borough Corporation, established in 1990, is a local government entity in Trinidad and Tobago responsible for governing and delivering services in the Diego Martin region. Its elected Mayor and Councillors oversee various aspects of local administration, including public health, sanitation, infrastructure maintenance, and community development.

Annual Clean Up Campaign

On Wednesday 11th December, the Diego Martin Borough Corporation through our Public Health Department embarked upon their annual Christmas Clean-Up Campaign throughout the Borough. 


This campaign will see cleanup teams removing bulk garbage & debris in every district throughout the Borough until Tuesday 7th January 2025.

Educating Future Drivers

In November 2024, officers of the Diego Martin Municipal Police Station hosted an insightful session at Maple Leaf International School, Trinidad, focusing on the Fixed Penalty Notice system and the Demerit Point system. The event emphasized the importance of responsible driving, especially for young drivers.

Business Incubator Training Program Graduation

In August 2024, the Diego Martin Borough Corporation proudly celebrated graduates of the Business Incubator Training Program which was a collaboration between the Diego Martin Borough Corporation and YTEPP.

​

The leadership and support of Her Worship, The Mayor, Alderman Akeliah Glasgow-Warner was recognized at the graduation ceremony which also included Ms. Thora Best, Chairman of the board YTEPP, Nigel Parris, CEO of YTEPP, and other YTEPP officials in attendance.

​

The program boasted an impressive 76% completion rate, and congratulations are extended to all graduates. See more at the Corporation's Facebook page

"Eyes Wide Open" STEM 2024

When students of Diego Martin Central Secondary's "Eyes Wide Open" STEM 2024, met with Mayor Akeliah Glasgow-Warner and the Council in June 2024, they were invited by Mayor Jerry Demings, Mayor of Orange County, Orlando to visit various STEM facilities in Orlando. The Council members gave their well wishes and advice to the students for their trip.

Present from Diego Martin Central Secondary were Mrs. Karen Bishop-Charles - Organizer & I.T Teacher, Mr. Sherwin Bute - Vice Principal, their students: Ms. T. Ameerali, Ms. A. Charles, Ms. Z. Holder, Ms. T. Morris, Ms. A. Perez, Ms. S. Richards, Ms. A. Sankar Singh and three parents.
