Visiting with China

On Friday 14th June 2024, a delegation from the Arima Borough Council paid a courtesy call to the His Excellency Fang Qiu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the Embassy’s Office in Maraval. The delegation was headed by His Worship the Mayor, Alderman Balliram Maharaj, who was accompanied by Councillor Jeniece Scott and Councillor Dave Maharaj.

The Mayor led discussions on cultural collaborations and training opportunities which would richly benefit the burgesses of Arima. My Green Enterprise (MGE)

The Arima Borough Corporation Local Economic Development (LED) Department in collaboration with the International Labour Organization hosted its first session of the My Green Enterprise (MGE) - Starting My Green Business Workshop.

The session covered the first steps in moving from business idea to developing their own green business plan. Participants identified some environmental problems in the community of Arima and generated solutions that can be used for business ideas.

They were also encouraged to start looking at local green businesses and identify how they can differentiate themselves in the marketplace to consumers.

Booth Vending Initiative

As part of the continued Booth Vending Initiative, The Arima Borough Corporation LED Department transported booths from the district of Tumpuna to the district of Calvary, with the assistance of our dispatcher and the Municipal Police.

While on site at Herde Park, Mt Pleasant, we were privileged to get some shots of another one of our booth vendors who is successfully taking advantage of the opportunity and thriving, evident by her stellar display. We wish them all the best and continued success in their business ventures.
